Introduction
A three year Degree Course of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is offered in the U.K.
Aircraft maintenance engineering degree (B.Eng.) is a balanced practical and theory-based course for the licence element, and a professional engineering degree course.
This course is recognised by European Aviation Law, as detailed by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and gives you access to real aircraft experience. We are the only University in the UK that has integrated the industry-standard aircraft maintenance qualification ‘EASA Part-66’ with an Honours degree, and deliver it on campus. On completion of the required EASA training, you will be able to obtain a full EASA Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License in just two years, which usually requires five years professional experience.*
*EASA Part-66 Licence: Attend 2,400 hours of the EASA elements, pass EASA modules at 75%, complete 12 weeks of approved work experience (at an additional cost) and you’ll get a three-year reduction in your experience requirement for an EASA Part-66 Licence. Otherwise you will need five years experience.

What you'll learn
This programme is structured so that in the first year students study generic subjects within a comprehensive syllabus that provides coverage of core subjects and fundamentals. In the second year students will focus their studies on their chosen route of either of the Mechanical Systems (B1) or Avionics (B2) disciplines.
Entry requirements
To join this course, you need A level Maths grade 4 (C) or above. A level Science/Physics grade 4 (C) or above and A Level English 3 (D) or above or 5 GCSEs at grade 9 to 5.
Previous experience in engineering may be considered on an individual basis.

You will learn from our experienced and supportive teachers and be assessed through Exams (Multi Choice) – Pass Mark 75%, Exam Essay – Pass Mark 75% and practical assignments.
